Why America Can Make or Break A New Global Gas World

Forbes -- With summer vacations on the horizon, we thought we’d give Forbes readers with a penchant for natural gas a real treat. I’ve hooked up with fellow European energy analyst, Andreas Goldthau to sketch our thoughts on how global gas dynamics play out in the next decade in a specially co-authored piece. We go on a pretty epic world tour to do so (best read near a pool with a mojito), but our key conclusions: America is the make or break nation to shift gas prices based on gas (rather than oil) fundamentals in the next ten years, but if we manage to get that far, be very careful what we wish for. Producer states could end up being the ultimate winners in a globalised gas world…

As noted in the article, watch out what you wish for. Gasoline is sort of safe for the average consumer, not sure that would be true w/LNG.

Refinery outages, "seasonal maintenance", pipeline ruptures, oil spills, refinery fires, refinery explosions, etc.... sound familiar to all of you? Big Oil wants every penny they can squeeze out of you, no matter how "unfair", or corrupt, or virtually unregulated, and Congress never finds any wrongdoing, even though our supplies and productions approach all-time highs and demand is at an 11-year low, we pay three to four times what we paid just ten years ago, what is wrong with this picture, Mr. Obama??? Bush started the BS with his obsession with commodity trading deregulation, but Obama twice said on public TV "I call on Congress to reign in speculators"....geez, what happened Obama??? what happened Congress??? Is all of this just a huge LIE??? One of many LIES??? Was Congress on vacation during these two speeches and Obama just forgot to give Congress the money needed to enact and enforce any legislation to "reign in speculators". Or do you want to blame the GOP for you forgetting to give Congress the necessary funds money to "reign in speculators" instead of giving billions of dollars to other countries while the money is needed here....? Now we have the next lie to deal with, your "Romneyhood". Well, Mr. Obama, you cad, after you plundered Medicare of a whopping 500 million dollars for your expensive Obamacare, are you going to blame the GOP for killing Medicare while you're doing a good job of doing that yourself? First Bush, now Obama are helping big oil rake in killer profits thanks to bloodthirsty speculators and international commodity traders artificially jack up oil and gas prices by any means possible, along with big oil purposely neglecting their pipelines and refineries, just hoping for the next malfunction, fire, explosion, leak, etc, knowing the Obama Mafioso government will just give them a slap on the wrist if they ever find any wrongdoing whatsoever.... I am so sick and tired of Obamahood, which helps any entity that supports him and punishes any entity that opposes the hypocrite in chief.....

Switching to natural gas might be fine during summer months when demand is down, but during winter months when people use it for heating prices will really rise.
