manual! Better MPG, usually cost less to buy and if the battery dies i can push start it (forward and in reverse) Can't do that in an automatic. I'm a mom of 3 boys and I've taught my 2 older sons to drive a stick. I read a report a few years ago that said the armed forces were switching over to automatics because most kids could not drive a standard. So sad.
