Doug, I acknowledge the global economy. Omitting our frightening relationship with China, for the most part is its economically healthy. Our trade with Japan though, isn't as healthy as it should be. They (more through social stigma than gov't intervention) don't really reciprocate. We buy all their stuff & except for Windows, they buy nearly nothing we make. Every time someone buys a Japanese product, a bulk share of that cash is sent to Japan, and never returns. If someone buys a German car or Bosch part, part of that money makes it back our way, in tangible exports, media exports or whatever. With Japan, the only way we ever see any of our money we export is when they go on vacation here.
